Welcome summer the right way, in proper post-lockdown fashion! Last year offered a lot of time spent inside and now it is time to make up for it. From outdoor cinemas to picnics in the park, below are 5 exciting summer activities to experience London.
1. Outdoor cinema
Your first stop this summer should be an outdoor cinema. Experience beautiful London evenings while watching your favourite throwback or new film. And we have a few recommendations for you!
Enjoy your cinema experience while looking out at London’s lovely sunsets and skylines, Rooftop Film Club has locations in both Peckham and Stratford. You can expect newly released films as well as some ‘oldies but goodies’ while sipping on your drink of choice and eating some delicious street food.
Alternatively, for a bit of a change of scene the Drive in Film Club in Alexandra Palace and Brent Cross offer a great mix of classics, recent movies and films for the whole family!
2. Picnic in the park
The next stop on your summer to do list should be to enjoy a picnic in the park either alone or with friends and family you have not been able to see a lot of since lockdown started. This is a fun, but safe way to see your loved ones, while still being cautious about COVID-19.
You cannot go wrong with Brockwell Park, Richmond Park or Hyde Park. You can also spice up your picnic with a lovely view at Hampstead Heath or after a small climb towards the Royal Observatory at the top of the hill at Greenwich Park – expect breath-taking views of central London and the Thames.
3. Rooftop bar
You can’t go wrong with a night-out at a rooftop bar – especially while overlooking London’s gorgeous summer sunsets. Grab your mates and head to The Nest at Treehouse London.
Grab a drink and a light bite on the boho-inspired outside terrace. Bar Elba is also a great option, with a roster of great events constantly on, from picnics to watching the sunset to watching movies at the outdoor cinema, this bar has so much to offer.
4. Outdoor workout
The last year has made everyone more conscious of their health than ever, therefore the next summer activity is an outdoor workout that you can do solo or with friends!
This is another safe way to catch up with loved ones as the lockdown restrictions continue to lift. From Paolo’s Body Barre to BXR London to simply running in the park, find the best option for you.
5. Outdoor dining
As summer starts to roll around there is nothing better than alfresco dining, which has been given a new meaning and purpose since the pandemic.
Enjoy the warmth of London summer evenings at one of London’s best restaurants.
